Wyoming's First Murderess: Polly Bartlett

Melissa Stefanie

It's National Wyoming Day! Happy Weirdster weekend, Weirdsters! This week, Melissa's husband, Ryan, gets to hear all about the crazy story of the Bartlett family. Polly Bartlett and her father, Stephen travelled in their covered wagon to the booming mine town of South Pass City, Wyoming around 1867. With only a bouncing bosom, a vial of arsenic and a dream, they built the Bartlett Inn on the outskirts of town. Polly was very popular with the working and traveling men, but oddly enough, some of them never returned home! About twenty-two of them actually. Polly and her father made it their business to lure in wealthy men, cook them a buffalo steak with "special" seasoning, then stand back and wait for their payout. We do love a female entrepreneur!

This week's episode features a trailer from Bucket of Chum Podcast with Steve Coates. Join Steve each week as he breaks down, dives in and takes a comedic look into the deep blue sea that is sharksploiltation cinema!
